Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b): On or about September 11, 2018 at the above addressed jobsite, employees conducting roofing operations, at approximately 10.4-18.4 feet above ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d). ABC ROOFING & SIDING OF ILLINOIS, INC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1148263 citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on December 15, 2016 with respect to a workplace located at 315 Lake Street, North Aurora, Illinois 60542.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: On or about September 11, 2018 at the above addressed jobsite, employees were working from an elevation greater that 6 feet. The employer failed to ensure an employee training program specific to fall hazards had been developed and maintained. Employees were thereby exposed to the hazards associated with falls from height. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d). ABC ROOFING & SIDING OF ILLINOIS, INC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.503(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1148263, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on December 15, 2016 with respect to a workplace located at 315 Lake Street, North Aurora, Illinois, 60542.
