29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2): Portable fire extinguishers were not visually inspected at least monthly: a) Processing Area, East Side - On or about August 23, 2018, the employer had not performed monthly inspection of an ABC portable fire extinguisher since February 21, 2018. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1169828, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 01/03/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 7 East Frederick St., Walkersville, MD 21793, and; In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3): Portable fire extinguishers were not subjected to an annual maintenance check: a) Processing Area - On or about August 25, 2018, an ABC portable fire extinguisher had not been inspected since 2015 according to the tag attached to the extinguisher: The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1136648, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on 09/21/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 3440 Maple Dr., Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501, and: The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1068378, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 02/05/2016, with respect to a workplace located at 401 4th Street NW, Attalla, AL 35954. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
