29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At the residential construction site located at 8105 N. Sycamore Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri: Employees were exposed to fall hazards. Framers were observed installing wood and working at height. Framers were exposed to a fall distance of greater than 10 feet eave to ground without use of fall protection. Mondo Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1314998, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on June 1, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 8201 N. Sycamore Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri.
