29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system; or, on roofs 50 feet (15.25 m) or less in width, the use of a safety monitoring system alone: On or about October 3, 2018, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet while installing roofing material and a safety monitor meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.502(h) or another form of fall protection was not used. MESSING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1254887, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON NOVEMBER 3, 2017 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 54 E CHALMERS STREET, CHAMPAIGN ILLINOIS, 61820.
