29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c): a) Jobsite, Stevensan Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143: Observed on or about October 3, 2018, employees were exposed to excavation collapse hazards while working at the bottom of an excavation that was approximately 5.5 feet in depth with vertical sidewalls. The employees were not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c). Meyer Excavating, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 963365, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on April 28, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 4155 Ewalt Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
