29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury:  On or about October 11, 2018, a 1916 Columbus Street, New Orleans, LA, the employer failed to instruct his employees to recognize and avoid unsafe conditions (such as bracing the structure) before removing interior walls in a house that was being renovated.

29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations:  On or about October 11, 2018, at 1916 Columbus Street, New Orleans, the employer failed to perform an engineering survey on a residential home by a competent person to determine the structural condition of the framing floors, and walls, prior to the  employees starting renovation work on the interior walls of a residential home.
