29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) Employees installing fall protection on the 2nd floor patio deck were not protected from falling to the lower level. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 11 feet. (b) Employees conducting residential construction activities on the 2nd floor were not protected from falling to the lower level due to the guardrails on the 2nd floor walk way were not installed properly. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 11 feet.
