Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) 1661 Easton Road, Warrington, PA, Worksite - On or about October 18, 2018, employees were exposed to struck by hazards as a Bobcat S300 skid steer loader was being operated in close proximity to pedestrian workers without a working back up alarm. Abatement Note: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement include, but are not limited to: 1. Fixing/replacing the back-up alarm on the Bobcat S300 skid steer. 2. Ensuring pre-use inspections are conducted on the skid steer to ensure the back-up alarms are functional. 3. Train personnel on proper skid steer inspection techniques to include the back-up alarm. 4. Ensure skid steer is removed from service until the back-up alarm is repaired or provide a spotter for the skid-steer operator to ensure personnel within any of the equipment's potential blind spots are kept clear.
