29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On, or about, October 17, 2018, the following machines were not provided with adequate safeguarding: A. Cosen Model C-300NC horizontal band saw: The unused portion of the blade was not provided with a guard and the rotating chip conveyor was not protected from accidental contact. B. Okuma ES-V4020 milling center: The door interlock was bypassed. C. Okuma Mate CNC milling center: The door interlocked was bypassed. D. Okuma Mate CNC milling center: The door interlock was bypassed. E. Four inch vertical belt sander: The machine was not provided with a guard on the top belt roller/pulley to cover the pinch point were the sanding belt ran onto the pulley.
