OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to workers/employees exposed to struck-by hazards while performing work on active roadways without adequate and sufficient signs, barriers, and/or sufficient alternative traffic patterns/work zones warning motor vehicle operators of their presence.     Location: Vicinity of 230 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, CT 06804         On or about October 19, 2018, at approximately 9:17 am a worker, not wearing a reflective vest was exposed to active vehicle traffic on a two lane 40 mph roadway while unloading equipment from a parked flatbed trailer and was not protected by an established work zone, alternative traffic patterns, barriers and warning signs.  Consequently, the worker was fatally struck by a motor vehicle passing the flatbed trailer.
