29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): A continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (n) was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8 hour time weighted average sound level (TWA) of 85 dBA: a) At the Milling Area, on or about November 6, 2018 - A continuing, effective hearing conservation program was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA. An employee, designated as a Miller, had an exposure to continuous noise at a dose of 72.73%. The exposure is approximately 1.45 times the OSHA action level of 85 dBA. This is equivalent sound level of 87.7 dBA. b) At the Tumbling Area, on or about November 6, 2018 - A continuing, effective hearing conservation program was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA. An employee, designated as a Tumbler, had an exposure to continuous noise at a dose of 67.10%. The exposure is approximately 1.34 times the OSHA action level of 85 dBA. This is equivalent sound level of 87.1 dBA.
