29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them): (a) Terra Contractors LLC, at 1843 Eisenhower Drive, Louisville, CO: On 10/25/18, the employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them). Employees were re-roofing a two story home. Employees worked upon the approximate 6:12 pitch roof. Employees accessed the roof via ladders. The employer did not perform frequent and regular inspections of the worksite. This condition exposed the employees to fall hazards.
