29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. On or about December 20, 2018, the employer did not use adequate machine guarding to protect employees. Employees were exposed to cuts lacerations, fractures, and amputations. Employees open the door to the machine in order to confirm that the tooling is in the correct position while the machine (Mazak Quick Turn 15 ) is in operation. Abatement documentation is required in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
