29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    On or about November 13, 2018, in the C&F Department, employees grind cast iron parts with a T.C. Service Co. Top Cat Air Tool Model 65BHL and were exposed to the following:    a) Eastside Work Station One - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    b) Eastside Work Station Two - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    c) Eastside Work Station Three - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    d) Eastside Work Station Four - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    e) Eastside Work Station Five - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    f) Westside Work Station - contact with the unused portion of the 12-inch grinding wheel;    g) Eastside Metal Cutting Saw - contact with the unused portion of the metal cutting blade; and    h) Eastside Metal Cutting Saw - contact with the unguarded spindle-end.

29 CFR 1910.243(a)(2)(ii):     All hand-held powered drills, tappers, fastener drivers, horizontal, vertical, and angle grinders with wheels greater than 2 inches in diameter, disc sanders with discs greater than 2 inches in diameter, belt sanders, reciprocating saws, saber, scroll, and jig saws with blade shanks greater than a nominal one-fourth inch, and other similarly operating powered tools shall be equipped with a constant pressure switch or control, and may have a lock-on control provided that turnoff can be accomplished by a single motion of the same finger or fingers that turn it on.
