29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge: (a) B2BD, LLC DBA QBT Companies located at 151 S. 8th Street, Berthoud, CO 80513: On and preceding 15 November, 2018, the employer did not ensure that stairways having four or more risers were equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge. Employees engaged in residential construction used the stairs in the main living area to access the second floor of the north and south residential townhome complexes while carrying materials and tools. The staircases in all of the main living areas of 12 townhome units had at least 15 risers and were open on one side, with a wall on the other side, but with no stairrails or hand rails on either side. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of falls from height.
