29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): The employer did not select and have each affected employee use the types of personal protective equipment (PPE) that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment. Shipping and Receiving Area; On or about 11/27/18, the employer did not provide and have employees using the 2-part foam for packaging use the appropriate gloves to protect them from the hazard of the isocyanate used in the foam. The isocyanate part of the foam is a sensitizer that can cause a skin or respiratory reaction in a sensitized employee.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): Employer had not developed or implemented a written hazard communication program included the requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1)(i) and (e)(1)(ii): Shipping and Receiving Area; On or about 11/27/18, the employer had not developed and implemented a hazard communication program to address employee exposure to isocyanates when using the 2-part foam system. Isocyanates are skin and respiratory sensitizers that can cause severe respiratory reactions in sensitized individuals.
