29 CFR 1910.38(a): The employer did not establish a written emergency action plan for employees expected to evacuate in the event of a fire or other emergency. Warehouse: A written emergency action plan was not fully developed and implemented for work place emergencies including, but not limited to, the potential for hydrogen gas build up in the battery charging area. Written procedures describing when to evacuate work spaces when hydrogen gas alarm activates, were not developed. Where work place alarm alerting system could not be heard in all locations in plant including the freezer, alternate alerting systems were not included in the written emergency action plan. A written plan shall include: Procedures for reporting emergencies Procedures for emergency evacuation Procedure to operate critical operations Procedures to account for all employees after evacuation Procedures to be followed by employees performing medical duties Name and job titles of employees who may be contacted for information about the plan
