29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Target, Inc, 2171 Prairie Center Pkwy, Brighton, CO 80601: On or before December 4, 2018 the employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding were provided to protect the deli lead and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts during deep clean maintenance operations of the Hobart Corporation, Serial # 56-238-748, Model # 2812PS deli slicer. This condition exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards. Abatement Note: One method of abatement is to ensure that the cord and plug equipment is unplugged during cleaning operations.
