29 CFR 1910.26(c): Portable dockboards were not secured by anchoring them in place nor by using equipment or devices that prevented the dockboard from moving out of a safe position: Loading Dock: On, or about, December 10, 2018, the Vestil Model AH-3630 dock plate provided for use by delivery drivers was not long enough for the height differential between the trailer dock and dock surface. As a result, there was insufficient contact on the both the trailer surface and dock surface to prevent the dock plate from moving as the cart was moved. Also, to minimize the angle of the dock plate, drivers would leave a gap of several inches between the trailer and dock, which also allowed the dock plate to move.
