29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) On or about January 2, 2019 and at times prior thereto, employees were involved in framing activities and working a frozen and slippery roof with a ground to eave height of approximately 10 feet on a 10 in 12 pitch roof without use of a personal fall arrest system. 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who was exposed to fall hazards that enabled each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. (a) On or about January 2, 2019, and at times prior thereto, employees did not receive sufficient education to acknowledge the requirement to don personal fall arrest systems when performing framing activities on a 10 in 12 pitch roof structure and exposed to a 10 foot fall hazard. Note: Abatement certification IS required for this item.
