This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards.    Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard can be found in ASME B30.2-2005, Overhead and Gantry Cranes, Section 2-1.14.5, "Latch-equipped hooks shall be used unless the application makes the use of the latch impractical or unnecessary."
