29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about January 4, 2019 at the above addressed jobsite, employees were exposed to fall hazard of 240' and 13' 4" while building a weather canopy. The employer failed to ensure fall protection was in place and being used near unprotected sides and edges.
