29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment:  a) On or about January 11, 2019 - 309 Beltline Place, Decatur, AL, maintenance/detail shop, employees were exposed to chemical hazards when Safety Data Sheets were not reviewed for personal protective equipment recommendations for caustic chemicals such as, but not limited to, SERVICERITE Purple Magic Wheel Brightener Concentrate and aerosol chemicals such as, but not limited to, Technician's Choice Brake & Parts Cleaner.  Work shop practices were not reviewed for physical hazards such as, but not limited to, fluids/equipment dropping onto employee faces/heads when working under cars/trucks.  The employer had not assessed the workplace, selected appropriate PPE, communicated the requirement to use the selected PPE nor required the use of the appropriate PPE.
