29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) Jobsite, 327 N 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA: Employees working in 13 foot deep excavation were not protected against cave-in and soil engulfment hazards. Adequate protective systems were not used to support all sides of the excavation. This condition was observed on or about January 11, 2019. Atrium, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1272261, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 10, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 327 N. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
