While performing cares for residents, employees are required to perform activities that expose them to blood and other potentially infectious material. These activities include but are not limited to blood draws, insulin injections, and caring for skin tears. Note) Certification and documentation of corrective action is required for this item.

29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): The employer did not report within 24-hours a work-related incident resulting in in-patient hospitalization, amputation or the loss of an eye. a) On or about January 9, 2019 the employer failed to make a notification to OSHA after they were made aware of an employee hospitalization. The employer was notified by a family friend of an employee that, as a result of a workplace injury that had occurred on January 5, 2019, the employee was now hospitalized in serious condition. The work-related incident was not documented, investigated or reported by the employer until after the employee had passed away on January 11, 2019. Note) Abatement certification is required for this item.
