The maximum angular exposure of the grinding wheel periphery and sides for safety guards used on cutting-off machines exceeded 150 degrees as measured at a point not less than 15 degrees below the horizontal plane of the wheel spindle. (See Figures O-12 and O-13) 54 Western Ave, West Springfield, MA On April 1, 2018 and at times prior, employees operated two Tabor Brasive Cutoff Machines with guarding that was not capable of reducing the angular exposure of the grinding wheel periphery and sides to less than 150 degrees. On January 17, 2019, an employee received finger amputation injuries while operating one of the two inadequately guarded saws when a blade disintegrated.
