29 CFR 1910.410(a)(3): All dive team members were not trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid (American Red Cross standard course or equivalent):    Pacific Ocean off the coast of Santa Barbara, California (34-23-779/119-34-934): On December 12, 2018, employees were performing a commercial diving operation to inspect an ocean outfall. One of the dive team members did not have a current first aid and CPR certification. During the dive, a worker became ill and needed medical treatment. Employees were exposed to injury and/or illness from delayed medical treatment.

Pacific Ocean off the coast of Santa Barbara, California (34-23-779/119-34-934): On December 12, 2018, employees were performing a commercial diving operation to inspect an ocean outfall. A list of emergency aid information was not maintained at the dive site. During the dive, a worker became ill and needed medical treatment. The worker was initially transported to a decompression chamber that was not operational. Employees were exposed to injury and/or illness from delayed medical treatment.

Specific emergency procedures were not discussed prior to the dive operations, such as the location of an operational decompression chamber. During the dive, a worker became ill and needed medical treatment. The worker was initially transported to a decompression chamber that was not operational. Employees were exposed to injury and/or illness from delayed medical treatment.
