29 CFR 1928.57(a)(7): Methods of guarding, except as otherwise provided in this subpart, each employer shall protect employees from coming into contact with hazards created by moving machinery: The employer is failing to protect employees from injuries associated with unguarded chain and sprocket wheels. This was most recently observed at 54080 Hwy 84, Bloomfield, Nebraska on February 5, 2019 when the chain and sprocket for the egg escalator was observed operating without guarding. An employee received an amputation injury from this unguarded component.
