29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following: Guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about February 9, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite two employees were climbing the wooden structure of a billboard to install a new sign and were not wearing or using any means of fall protection. An employee fell approximately 24 feet which resulted in blunt force trauma and death. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
