This was most recently observed at 1111 Fort St, Omaha, Nebraska on March 1, 2019 when employees were servicing lead acid batteries with no eye wash station in the immediate vicinity.

29 CFR 1910.178(g)(2): Facilities were not provided for flushing and neutralizing spilled electrolyte, for fire protection, for protecting charging apparatus from damage by trucks: The employer is failing to protect employees from injuries related to working on or near battery charging facilities. This was most recently observed at 1111 Fort St, Omaha, Nebraska on March 1, 2019 when employees were servicing the lead acid batteries in motorized pallet jacks and there was no method to neutralize spilled battery electrolyte, no readily available fire extinguisher, and no structure protecting the battery chargers from incidental contact with the pallet jacks.
