29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets (SDS) for each hazardous chemical, and did not ensure that they were readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they were in their work area(s): (a) On March 8, 2019, Teddies Hair Designers, Inc. did not ensure that SDSs were readily accessible for employees working in the color room. Colorists and Color Assistants were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to, dyes (benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, deceth-3, cocamide MIPA), emulsions (hydrogen peroxide), hair treatments (hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid), peroxide developers, ammonia, etc. when preparing and/or applying hair products. (b) On March 8, 2019, Teddies Hair Designers, Inc. did not maintain a SDS for Divina 20 Volume Clear Developer, which contains hydrogen peroxide, located in the color room.
