On or about March 7, 2019 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not perform initial air monitoring to determine if employees working on the Edwin H. Gott vessel at the CSX Docs were exposed to lead at or above action level.

29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepiece were worn by employees who had facial that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function; a) JAG Industrial and Marine Services. On or about March 7, 2019 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that employees using tight-fitting respirators did not have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that could interfere with valve function while conducting welding activities on the Edwin H. Gott vessel at the CSX Docs. Employees engaged in the installation of steel, burning, cutting and welding operations were exposed to hazards of potential inhalation of airborne contaminants associated with lead.
