29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s). On or about January 21, 2019, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not enforce the use of the installed machine guards or did not ensure that the machines were guarded, to include but not limited to: a) the Victor Lathe 24" guard over the rotating chuck was not utilized, exposing employees to caught-in hazards, and b) the Carlton Drills, did not have guards over the rotating drill bit, exposing employees to caught-in hazards, and c) the Clausing Drill, did not have a guard over or around the rotating drill bit, exposing employees to caught-in hazards.
