29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about March 12, 2019, at the Opti B34 HV drill press, the rotating chuck was not guarded. Employees drilling holes and are exposed to the rotating unguarded chuck. Employees are exposed to the hazard of being caught-in the unguarded rotating chuck. b) On or about March 12, 2019, at the back of the AccurShear there is no guarding to protect employees from being struck by the cut steel that has falling from the shear. Employees exposed to being struck-by the falling metal.
