29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1): (a) Fall hazards. (1) Before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard, the employer must provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart.  Employers must ensure employees are trained in the requirements of this paragraph on or before May 17, 2017.    On March 18, 2019, located on the north side of an exterior commercial structure, employees were exposed to a fall hazard installing an Easter decoration while leaning over a parapet wall not utilizing any fall protection system. The employees had not been trained by the employer to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Potential fall height measured to be 17'-8" above the concrete surface below.      In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
