29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by points of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Location: Production Areas Points of operation and ingoing nip points on equipment such as mixers, pasta making machines, and packing machines were not guarded. Instance A: The end of the feed conveyor for the # 158 packaging line was not adequately guarded. Instance B: Hobart cheese mixers' beaters are not guarded. Instance C: Feed hopper paddles for pasta making machines and the spinach grinder are unguarded.
