OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-in/between hazards: a) Plant 1, 145 Pine Street, Toughkenamon, PA 19374 - Employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-in-between hazards while pushing a Yale Motorized Hand Truck up a slippery incline with a shifting load weighing approximately 1,000 pounds, positioned uphill with the hopper leading and their fingers positioned between the backrest and the load. This condition was noted on or about March 20, 2019. Abatement note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to ensure that employees do not operate a motorized hand truck on slick surfaces, with the load or forks positioned uphill on inclines, or with hands not within the handle guards, as per the Yale Operating Manual - Motorized Hand Truck MPB045VG (A245).
