Courtland St, East Stroudsburg, PA: Employees were observed not wearing any eye protection in order to protect them from any flying fasteners, particles or other debris while working with a Bostitch Coil Roofing Nailer, exposing the employees to a severe eye injury, on or about March 29, 2019. Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg, PA:  Employees were not protected from falling while installing roofing shingles on a 6:12 pitched commercial roof, exposing employees to a twenty-five (25) foot fall hazard, on or about March 29, 2019.

Courtland St, East Stroudsburg, PA:  Employees performing roofing work activities from a 6:12 pitch roof were not trained to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Employees were exposed to a twenty-five (25) fall hazard, on or about March 29, 2019.  Abatement Certification is Required for this Violation.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed    a) Worksite, 395 N. Courtland St, East Stroudsburg, PA:  Employees were using a twenty-five (25) foot aluminum extension ladder (unknown manufacturer) to access the roof with the ladder side rails extended approximately one (1) foot above the upper landing surface, exposing employees to a fall hazard, on or about March 29, 2019.    b) Worksite, 395 N. Courtland St, East Stroudsburg, PA:  Employees were using an eighteen (18) foot aluminum extension ladder (Werner) to access the upper level roof with the ladder side rails extended approximately one (1) foot above the upper landing surface, exposing employees to a fall hazard, on or about March 29, 2019.      Nice Shingles Roofing & Exteriors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1314350, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on June 29, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 105 Cobble Lane, Stroudsburg, PA.
