29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(iv): Front-end loaders and similar pieces of equipment were used to support scaffold platforms when they were not specifically designed by the manufacturer for such use. On the east side of the construction site, an employee installing metal roofing material was elevated by a Ingersoll-Rand forklift was exposed to a fall hazard more than 20 feet. The platform in use was not an approve work platform by the manufacturer for capacity, construction, use, and fall protection.

29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(vi): Section 603(e) of American National Standard Institute, B56.1-1969 Safety Standards for Powered Industrial Trucks, as adopted by 29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(vi): When a truck was left unattended, load engaging means were not fully lowered, controls were not neutralized, power was not shut off, brakes were not set, and the key or connector plug was not removed. On the east side of the construction site, the employer allowed the forklift with forks elevated to be unattended while installing metal roofing material.
