29 CFR 1926.1431(a): The use of equipment to hoist employees was not prohibited except where the employer demonstrates that the erection, use, and dismantling of conventional means of reaching the work area, such as a personnel hoist, ladder, stairway, aerial lift, elevating work platform, or scaffold, would be more hazardous, or is not possible because of the projects structural design or worksite conditions.     On or about March 21, 2019 at 1210 Rockbridge Rd. Norcross GA, 30062:  Employees were hoisted in a personnel basket by a Manitex mobile truck crane, model TC450. The employer did not consider the use of conventional means to reach the work area exposing employees to a fall hazard.      Future Technologies Venture, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.1431(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1194567, citation 1, item 1 issued December 29, 2016 and was affirmed as a final order on January 17, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 14305 East Broad Street Pataskala, OH 43062.
