One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. (a) S1 Parkinson Winder - On or about April 11, 2019 the employer did not ensure that the end of the positran roll transfer system was adequately guarded. Exposing employees to caught in hazards at ingoing nip points.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: (a) Throughout the facility - On or about April 11, 2019, the employer did not ensure inspections of their energy control procedures were completed, at least annually, to determine that the procedures adequately identified all sources of potential energy that employees could be exposed to while performing servicing and maintenance of equipment and machines, such as but not limited to the S1 Parkinson Winder. Employees were exposed to amputation hazards.
