Two employees were installing a sewer line in a trench approximately 31 feet long, 5 feet wide, and approximately 14 feet deep, with near vertical walls in type B soil, without a trenchbox or shoring, and without adequate sloping or benching.  The trench collapsed, resulting in the fatal injuries of two employees.  This condition exposed employees to cave-in and struck-by hazards.
