29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): On or about April 18th at the worksite located at 2988 Frontage Road, in the city of Gainesville Georgia, employees were exposed to the following fall hazards, in associated with tasks related to new residential construction. a) An employee installing materials on the second floor of a new residential structure #18, was exposed to fall hazard of approximately 10.7 feet when the employer failed to ensure that each employee was properly protected from falls with the appropriate fall protection means. b) Employees performing residential construction tasks on building #17 were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 10.6 feet when the employer failed to ensure that guard rails were installed across all openings that exposed the employees to falls outside of the structure. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(16): Portable ladder(s) with structural defects, such as, but not limited to, broken or missing rungs, cleats, or steps, broken or split rails, corroded components, or other faulty or defective components, were not either immediately marked in a manner that readily identifies them as defective, or be tagged with "Do Not Use" or similar language, and shall be withdrawn from service until repaired. On or about April 18, 2019 at the worksite located at 2988 Frontage Road in the city of Gainesville, Georgia, employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 8 feet, when utilizing an A frame type ladder that was damaged to access the second floor area of a new residential construction project. The damaged included but was not limited to missing metal lock mechanism. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
