OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrocution by working too close to power lines.   Location: 864 49th St.  on or about:  a) An employee was delivering bundles of sheet rock to a worksite, employee used a flatbed truck knuckle boom crane configured with forks to lift pallets (model PM PL 74's). Employee operated the crane moving material from the flatbed truck to third floor window of the worksite and crane arm was less than 6 feet from the power lines.  AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASABLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD ARE:  1.Do not operate the machine in vicinity of power lines.  2.To operate the crane in the vicinity of power lines always refer to your superiors or competent authority for special instructions.   3. Referring to the OSHA Construction Crane Standard 1926.1400 the minimum distance to operate a crane from power lines operating at les than 50KV is 10 feet.
