The hydraulic frame clamp was not protected with a point of operation guard; on or about 03/13/2019. 29 CFR 1910.243(a)(1)(i): Portable power driven circular saw(s) having a blade diameter greater than two inches were not equipped with guard(s) below the base plate or shoe which automatically and instantly returned to the covering position when the tool was withdrawn from the work: a) Worksite, 901 Burman Blvd, Calverton NY - An employee was authorized to operate a OMGA Compound Miter Saw with a lower blade guard that did not fully cover the blade when the blade was in the upright position; on or about 05/14/2019. Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
