Employees were accessing the roof with an extension ladder and the side rails of the ladder did not extend 3 feet above the landing surface. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about 5/22/19 at a roof project located at 23 Avian Way, Lancaster, New York; employees were installing shingles on the roof of a 2 story house with a 7 in 12 roof pitch and an eave height of approximately 12 to 18 feet. There was no fall protection in use. NO CERTIFICATION ABATEMENT REQUIRED TNE Roofing and Siding, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1105054, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 2/16/16, with respect to a workplace located at 4702 Lower River Road, Lewiston, New York.
