29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Where powered industrial trucks were found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the trucks were not taken out of service until they had been restored to safe operating condition (s): a. 2272 Park Central Blvd., Decatur (Stonecrest), Georgia (Warehouse) - Employees were exposed to struck-by hazard. The designated powered industrial trucks (P.I.T) operators continued to operate the motorized electric pallet jack after being involved in a accident. The pallet jack was not taken out of service until it has been fully inspected and deemed as safe, on or about May 23, 2019.

Employees were required to operate the powered industrial trucks (P.I.T) on a daily basis transporting and retrieving warehouse materials back and forth from the shop area. Employees were not required to perform daily inspection of the powered industrial trucks (P.I.T) before placing it in service for operation, to detect any deficiencies/defects of the powered industrial trucks, on or about May 23, 2019.
