29 CFR 1926.351(b)(2): Welding cable(s) in use were not free from improper repair or splices for a minimum distance of 10 feet from the cable end to which the electrode holder was connected:  (a) On or about 06-04-2019 and times prior thereto, Bryant Brothers Welding and Steel Erection, located at U.S.M.C. Base Quantico (Future Site of Quantico Marine Mart), Building 27406 at MCBI St. & Hot Patch Rd. Quantico, VA 27406:  An employee was exposed to electrical hazards from a defective welding cable with many improper repairs made within 10 feet of the electrode holder.  A slice located at 13 inches and 60 inches from the electrode holder, with exposed copper conductors, was found with wrapped electrical tape covering it.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
