29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): "Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. The employer is failing to ensure that all employees exposed to fall hazards while roofing are utilizing fall protection. This most recently occurred on June 6, 2019 on the jobsite located at 11902 Pierce Plaza, Omaha, NE 68144. Seven employees were observed scraping the roof of a one-story commercial building at heights greater than six feet above the ground while not utilizing any form of fall protection. The employer did not have a monitor nor a warning line. The widest part of the roof was greater than 50 ft. The roof pitch was less than 4.
