29 CFR 1910.109(i)(6)(i): Electrical installations shall conform to the requirements of subpart S of this part, for ordinary locations. They shall be designed to minimize damage from corrosion. At the time of the inspection, the electrical in the fertilizer building did not comply with Subpart S, 1910.305(b)(1) where all unused openings in electrical cabinets were not covered to prevent exposure to live voltage up to 480 volts. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.109(i)(6)(ii): In areas where lightning storms are prevalent, lightning protection shall be provided. (See the Lightning Protection Code, NFPA 78-1968, which is incorporated by reference as specified in Sec. 1910.6.)
